Act & Rules

The act is a law that is passed by the legislature of a country. It is a structured document that contains definitions, the scope of its applicability, various provisions, fines, punishments, and remedies.

Rules are the prescribed guidelines for the proper conduct and can be adjusted accordingly. They are made to supplement the Act. The power to make rules comes from a particular section in the Act itself. Rules provide the procedural aspect of the laws and can never contradict the Act albeit can be altered.
